What is Fino de Aroma Cocoa?

'Fino de Aroma' or 'Fine Flavour' is the term used to distinguish between cocoa beans which are grown for their flavour ahead of all other qualities (hardiness, yield, etc...). The remaining cocoa beans are normally referred to as 'bulk' or 'ordinary' cocoa.

Fino de Aroma cocoa beans are produced from Criollo orTrinitario cocoa-tree varieties, while bulk cocoa beans come from Forastero trees. The share of fino de aroma cocoa in the total world production of cocoa beans is approximately 5%.
